 To consult measures click the sphere to your left… The Legal approximation of the Ukrainian legislation to the acquis of the European Union being prescribed by the Article 51 of the Partnership and Co-operation Agreement between the European Communities and their Member States, and Ukraine (hereinafter refers to as the PCA) is one of the main components of the European policy of Ukraine, as well as one of the crucial aspects of the EU-Ukraine co-operation.
The Article 51 defined 16 key spheres of approximation in particular: customs law, company law, banking law, company accounts and taxes, intellectual property, protection of workers at the workplace, financial services, rules on competition, public procurement, protection of health and life of humans, animals and plants, the environment, consumer protection, indirect taxation, technical rules and standards, nuclear laws and regulations, transport.
Along with that the Article 51 envisaged that Ukraine shall endeavour to ensure that its legislation will be gradually made compatible with that of the Community, but there were no direct indication on the level of approximation to be achieved.
